The Top 5 Books You Need to Read (like right now)

Before you dare to tell me that you’re “not a reader” (and I proceed to slap some sense into you), let me say this, you need to become one. Charlie “Tremendous” Jones once said,

“You will be the same person in five years as you are today except for the people you meet and the books you read.”

Even more importantly, God has given us his very own precious WORDS. It is reading that allows us to know him and grow in our understanding of the life he has made possible for us to live. Yes, there are audio Bibles, but there is something that physically takes place in your brain when you hold the word of God in your hands, see it with your eyes, and hear it coming out of your own mouth.

The Bible is not on my list of recommendations because I don’t recommend it. Rather, I expect, that if you seriously desire freedom and abundance in your life you already have, or will get your hands on one asap. It is meant to be a daily read, a moment to moment must-have, the staple to your reading diet. Everything else is supplemental. So here are a couple of my favorite translations, but feel free to explore and find the one that speaks the most clearly to you. Then feast on it.

With mini devotionals from Joyce Meyer, this is an Amplified translation that lays out the word in a clear, powerful way.

With plenty of room in the lined margins for taking notes, and space for the doodler, the CSB Notetaking Bible is a clear, easy to understand translation.

Now for My Recommendations,

Harry S. Truman said, “not all readers are leaders, but all leaders are readers.” Here are just 5 of the books that have most deeply impacted my life to date. There are so many that could be on this list, and I love reading, so enjoy these for now, and I’m sure I’ll be back with another list by the time you’re done.
